Note #1: Initially The Nor'easter was a magazine.
(See The "Forward Page" on page #3.
On page #9 It was dated Dec. 25, 1913.
Later they decided to name the magazine "Courier" so as not to
confuse it with the "Nor'Easters".

Note #2: Scroll to page 114 to read 2 pages of little known
NE Trivia submitted by Steve Cooley.

Note #3: The class of 1950 was denied the privilege of having
their own Nor'Easter by virtue of the school district's decision
regarding the addition of an 8th grade to the system.
Pages 71 Through 77 of the '49 Nor'Easter were Seniors that
would not have their own Nor'Easter.  Steve Cooley '67 added
this notation into the Preface and edited the '49 Cover to
say '50.

Note #4: Scroll to page 73...
You may recognize Ron Mott from NBC News as a Senior.

Note #5: Steve Cooley '67 added a Notable Page since  it was
Clarence M. Kelly's 1928 Senior Year and he later served as the
Director of the FBI and the Kansas City, MO Police Chief.
Steve added a reminder that this was just 1 year before the
Market Crash and the Great Depression.  These faces certainly
had no idea of what they would experience, as they ventured
out into the Cold Cruel  World where  people literally jumped out
of windows and food was very scarce for many of "Our People".

Note #6: View the "Charles B. Reynolds Memorial Athletic Field"
dedication and Memorial Entrance on Pages 72-73.  Also on Page 79,
is chronicled John Phillip Sousa's visit to Northeast.

Note #7: 1925's Nor'easter brought the introduction of the
Northeast Jr. High Staff complete with the expected students for
those years as it opened and the ad in the final pages that the construction
company that built the school, "Sebastian Patti Construction" took out.

There is also a tribute to Ethel Mae Rush Randall, who wrote the words
to our School Song, "Thou Dear Northeast" on Page 95.

The following two people were later designated as Alumni "Notables":

Charles Luckman who later became an Architect, Civic & Business Leader
and President of Colgate Palmolive.  He designed Cape Canaveral,
Edwards Air Force Base, Television City and Spacecraft Center in Houston.
He was Decorated by France and Britain.

Fred Hawkins who later became a Dance Choreographer and in 1938
became the first man to dance with the company of the modern dancer
and Choreographer of that time period, Martha Graham.  The two were
married in 1948.  He left her troupe in 1951 to start his own company.
They divorced in 1954 and he passed away in 1994.
(It is unknown why he was listed in the "Notables" as Eric Hawkins,
however, the picture used was his Class of 1925 Sr. picture)

Note #8: Steve Cooley '67 found the listing of all the names of
Northeast High School and Jr. High Graduates from the
KC Times Star Newspaper.  He then noticed that the "Flip-Side" of
the page was a galley of Movies that were playing in  the area
at that time.  These pages can be found at the end of the Nor'easter.
